Another Impressive Feat by Our Youngsters

At the recent 2019, NSW Junior Championships our Macarthur Throws Squad athlete turned on an impressive feat. The Youngsters claimed seven medals including (3) Gold and (4) Silver on their way to qualifying for the Australian Junior Championships.

13-year-old Campbelltown Collegians Athletics Club member Unitty Ta’uo continued her run of good form. Unitty claimed the first gold medal of the day, winning the U15 Women’s Hammer Throw with an inspiring throw of 47.05m.

In the next event, Prestons youngster Breanna Griffiths added another championship title to her name, winning the gold medal in the U16 Women’s Hammer Throw with a best of 47.02m.

2019 NSW Junior Championships

Campbelltown Collegians Athletics Club athlete Venita Mailei competed at the championships in both the Shot Put & Discus events. Venita added yet another gold medal to her collection, taking out the Women’s U20 Shot Put with a best of 12.70m. In the U20 Women’s Discus, Venita claimed her second medal of the meet, winning silver with a throw of 39.89m.

Hammer thrower youngster’s Amelia Morgan and Christopher Bugeja also claimed medals at the championships! 13-year-old Amelia won the silver medal in the U15 Women’s Hammer Throw with a best of 40.51m. Competing for the first time at this level, 12-year-old Christopher claimed the silver medal in the U14 Men’s Hammer Throw with a best of 25.15m.
