Signing off on a Golden Note

Venita Mailei has finished her Little Athletics career by signing off on a golden note at the LANSW State Championships, held at SOPAC, Homebush.

The Macarthur Throws Squad and Campbelltown Collegians Club athlete threw a new personal best of 44.87m on her way to winning the U17 Women’s Discus event on Friday night. On Sunday Venita bagged her second Gold Medal of the meet after taking out the Women’s U17 Shot Put event with a best distance of 15.40m.

Fellow Macarthur Throws Squad member Chaise Attard smashed his personal best in the U10 Boys Discus event to claim the Silver Medal. The Campbelltown Collegians youngsters throw of (34.82m) also broke the Club Record of 33.21m set back in 1999.

In the U10 Boys Shot Put squad member Jaxon Taeiloa gave it his all to secure the Bronze Medal with a best put of (10.48m).

A special mention also to squad members Reki Roberts “new personal best of (6.01m) in the U9 Girls Shot Put”, Daniel Bugeja “new personal best of (7.11m) in the U9 Boys Shot Put” and Unitty Ta’uo “new Campbelltown Collegians Club Record, U13 Girls Discus (39.55m)”.
