Throwers Huge Medal Haul

Our Macarthur Throws Squad youngsters did us proud on the weekend at the 2018 NSW Junior Championships, held at SOPAC, Homebush. The Campbelltown Collegians Athletics Club throwers huge medal haul consisted of (5) Gold & (2) Silver Medals, achieved in very warm and humid conditions!

National junior shot put champion Venita Mailei claimed two Gold Medals at the meet, taking out the U18 female Shot Put with a best of (14.88m) and the U18 female Discus with (41.82m).
12 year old youngster Unitty Ta’uo also claimed two medals at the championships, winning Gold in the U14 female Hammer Throw with (34.99m) and Silver in the U14 female Discus with a throw of (30.30m)
2017 Australian All Schools Champion Breanna Griffiths added another title to her name, winning Gold in the U15s female Hammer Throw with a best throw of (44.28m).
Nicole Pili claimed the Gold Medal in the U18 female Hammer Throw with a best of (41.51m). Nikki placed 4th in the U18s Discus with a best of (36.46m).
12 year old Amelia Morgan competing for the first time at these championships did herself proud winning the Silver Medal in the U14 female Hammer Throw with a new personal best of (31.47m). Amelia place 4th in the U14s Shot Put with another personal best of (10.10m). She also competed in the U14s Discus placing 7th with (24.97m).
