Macarthur Throws Squad aspiring hammer thrower Matilda Saunders made an impressive winning debut at her first NSW Junior Championships meet at the weekend.
The Campbelltown Collegians athlete produced a new personal best throw of 39.65m on her way to clinching the Gold Medal in the girls under 14 Hammer Throw.
Fellow squad member Amelia Morgan claimed the Silver Medal in the under 17 women’s Hammer Throw with a best of 47.54m.
Saunders and Morgan have both qualified for next months Australian Junior Championships. The national event will be in Sydney from April 12 to 19.
