Macarthur Throws Squad youngsters Christopher Bugeja and Amelia Morgan hurled their hammers out to new personal best at the Treloar Shield Blacktown meet on Saturday.

12 year old Christopher destroyed his previous best mark of 29.94m in round 2 of the Mens 3kg Hammer Throw competition with a throw of 32.14m. However the Campbelltown Collegians Club athlete wasn’t done yet, throwing 34.82m in round 3, and going one better in round 4 to finish with a new personal best of 35.67m.

Fellow Campbelltown Collegians Club athlete and squad member Amelia Morgan smashed her previous best mark of 36.29m that she set only a few weeks ago at the NSW All Schools Championships.

Competing in the Women’s 3kg Hammer Throw event, 12 year old Amelia heaved the hammer out to an impressive distance of 40.82m to take out the event and record a new personal best distance.

Amelia will be keen to continue her good form in preparation for the Australian All Schools Championships to be held in Cairns, in December 2018
